Re: If the bible is your argument...

Lorna Pollock:
I've come to the conclusion that gays want to be married because they want to convince others that being gay is not immoral. Then - if they think they have the world believing it - then maybe they can convince God of it when they die... Quoting from another person's message on this board - which I couldn't say better...I'm appalled at this social acceptance and 'rewriting' of morality. If you gave this more than a second of thought, you would have no other righteous conclusion but to say to yourselves; homosexuality does not make physical sense and therefore, certainly contradicts spiritual harmony with the Creator. What a sad world we live in! As for me and my house; we will serve the Lord!

I am not gay but niether do I think being gay or having gay is sex is immoral. I don't want to speak for gay people who, like us straight people don't all think alike anyway but I doubt that most of them view loving another person who just happens to be the same sex as "immoral" just because small minded people like you say that it is.

Gay people want to be allowed to have legal committed relationships like the rest of us enjoy. There is also a practical consideration. If you are married you enjoy certain legal rights as a spouse which do not apply to people merely living together, regardless of sexual orientation.

You can believe what you want to believe. That's your legal right. Your belief is not a legal reason to deny civil rights to others whether you believe they are sinning or not.

BTW your God, if he exists, made all people and that includes gay people. Since it has been shown that people are born gay then do you really think God would punish them for acting the way he made them?

I won't put my faith in a God who would judge people in this way. Doesn't your Bible say that God sent his only son to die for our sins? That's a heckuva sacrifice so I'm thinking God loves all of us and sharing our love with another person would be viewed with favor by him. If not he's a prick.
