Hee, hee...when I was in my late teens, my best friend (who was 20+ years older) used to get so mad at me. Every time she'd say, during a discussion, "why do they do...*insert thought/word/act of choice here*? I always used to answer, "because they're just stupid".

She thought it was a really mean thing to say and she thought I was an arrogant bitch for saying it. About a year before she died, she told me that she used to think I was an awful person for saying that, but then she realized I wasn't saying it as a put down or as a judgement, it was just a fact. "People are just stupid! And there's really not anything you can do about it, but deal with it as best you can..." she said.

So, I guess I've been resigned to the fact that people are stupid for pretty much all my life. No need to get militant about it, militancy doesn't change the stupid factor. ;)
