If it makes you feel any better, I imagine the progressives of this
country would have negated the votes of the white South Africans in
regards to apartheid, the Nazis in 1930s Germany, and the KKK in 1950s
American South, if we could. Come to think of it, if we could to back
in time I bet progressives would have also attempted to circumvent the
popular support behind the murder of the Native Americans, the
suppression and abuse of women and the illegalization of inter-racial
marriage.
Actually, what' s funny about all those is that
progressives tried but failed. Can you imagine the right-wing disasters
we've actually managed to prevent? It boggles the mind. Too bad we
couldn't get GW Bush before he fucked everything up.
Some principles transcend your need to feel empowered "true" conservative.
(to
any progressives reading this thread - if there are any: Isn't it great
that we can just point at Bush 43 and the republican congress
between '94 and '06 any time conservatives try to convince people they
have good ideas? There was some good out of the last 8 years after
all!)
(Now watch all the conservatives disown him...)
