Materialism, for me, seems to lead to a chicken and egg dilemma, the mind controls the brain but the brains causes the body to grow a body and a mind or the brain develops a mind but then what caused the brain or body to do anything? That leads to a logical regression of causes with volition and effects back to nothingness or particles and energy. What causes particles and energy to do anything in the first place? So we say the potential for minds is written into the way things are in this reality. Well….., how did it get that way? Only a God or something God like answers those questions, same with the question of why there is something instead of nothing? Only God or something God like can account for there being something instead of nothing for nothing could do nothing. Materialist trend to stop short of addressing those questions.
