Did you all know that Glenn Close was ENRAGED at being forced to play the tub scene? The original script (which she agreed to) called for her to commit suicide (while listening to Madam Butterfly), in such a way as to make it looked as though the Michael Douglas character had murdered her?

Test audiences were disappointed by that ending, and seemed to want the Michael Douglas' family to have revenge on the Glenn Close character--so they invented the tub scene. Glenn Close was furious because she felt it completely changed her character from someone with profound psycho problems into just a "crazed women competing for a man."
