Yeah, and the back side of that is now we have a bunch of militant stay at home moms who are out there trying to make out like it's a woman's duty to stay at home and have and raise kids and women who go off to work, because they have to or because they like to, are doing their families and society a grave disservice.

The thing about freedom is that you get to do what you want for any reason at all - there is no social, moral, personal, religious or any other obligation to proselytize about your reasons if you don't wish to. Why should America muslim women be expected to act any differently about hijab than anyone else is about anything else? Maybe they are unaware of "the issue" of oppression elsewhere, maybe they're not, but either way, they are not required to answer or explain to anyone for their personal choices.
