Not tasting your own medicine?

You complain about omnivores perceiving you as not quite normal when they find you're a vegetarian. Then you comment about vegans that "these people are intense." Do you not see that you're doing the same thing to vegans that omnivores do to you?
Ok, so they eat and believe differently than you do. By your own argument, they're otherwise just as ordinary as everyone else. Take your own medicine, and treat them that way.
PS as a 25 year vegan, I appreciate the general sentiment (just not that you applied it so narrowly). These are deeply held personal beliefs, yet people seem to find them fair game for mockery ("that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!"). Of course, that's true of most non-mainstream philosophies. People ridicule my atheist veganism, yet would never consider jeering at a carnivorous Jew.
