John Chapter 18

38"What is truth?" Pilate asked. With this he went out again to the Jews and said, "I find no basis for a charge against him. 39But it is your custom for me to release to you one prisoner at the time of the Passover. Do you want me to release 'the king of the Jews'?" 40They shouted back, "No, not him! Give us Barabbas!" Now Barabbas had taken part in a rebellion.

It has always been a pet peeve of mine when Christians blame Jews for "killing Jesus" when the truth, as shown in this passage, is not that the Jews wanted Jesus dead, it's just that they wanted Barabbas to be alive. It's an important distinction. You see Pilate was only allowed, by law, to release one prisoner. He gave them the option of Jesus, a peacemaker, or Barabbas, an angry militant rebel. The Jews of the time felt they wanted a "fighter" to deliver them from oppression and felt Jesus' more concilliatory style would not take them far. As such, they said "Give us Barabbas!"

Not to get back to the "Obama Messiah" Watch garbage, but in this metaphor, Obama plays the role of Jesus while Hillary is Barabbas. As has been mentioned before, I believe on the XX Factor Blog, many of Hillary's supporters support her because of her "figher mentality". They are angry for the past eight years of Bush rule and rather than seeking a competent leader, those Democrats want a President that will be just as bull headed and uncompromising as George W. Bush, only one that is bull headed and uncompromising in the favor of the Democratic Party. Obama on the other hand brings a message of letting everyone come to the table (which would be illustrated by a biblical reference that was a few chapters earlier than what I pasted above), rising above our differences and coming to solutions that benefit everyone.

After last night, it appears that Democratic Party is making a wiser decision than the mob before Pilate.
