Truman was more responsible for defeating Communism than Reagan was. It was his policies and the international organizations he set up that allowed the long term defeat of Communism.

Not sure about MORE responsible...Reagan took advantage of many enablers truman put in place. Also, Truman used some direct intervention on occaision (Greek Civil War) in order to stem Communist expansion, much like Reagan later on.
