Why does John Dickerson dislike Biden?

Or maybe he doesn't dislike him, but he makes fun of him often on the Gabfest podcast (and I confess, it's really funny).
But I don't understand why Biden's not taken more seriously. He doesn't have the most attractive demeanor --- the way he squints when he answers a question reminds me of David Putty from Seinfeld --- but I'm typically impressed by his thoughtful answers to questions, even when I'm not sure whether I agree, because he doesn't sound like he's walking on eggshells, being purposefully vague, or oversimplifying for the sake of a soundbyte, etc. This makes it more challenging to get simple and safe message across to John Q. Public maybe, but why doesn't he get more love from the press, who I would hope, can identify a straight talker when they hear one?
Sorry to move discussion off McCain, but since a lot of posters here cited Biden as their favorite, I though it was a good opportunity to ask the question, which has been nipping at me. I don't know much about him (Biden) but he seems to answer questions in a way none of the other candidates do, which should be worth a few points.
