hehehehehe, see, I wonder if he even understands that the dollar is a promissory note; or that he completely denies the very meaning of "fiat" when he states that there doesn't need to be any authority behind the paper.

degs is so damn good with politics, I figured he had a legit beef to offer here, but me thinks this is another example of how our society is entirely clueless when it comes to the currency.

Let's look at these two ideas: conspiracy and collusion:

When all the largest banks in the nation join together to form a central bank; that is called collusion. It is the epitome of what used to be termed a "trust"... nowadays we call that a monopoly. Anti-trust laws in this nation forbid the monopolizing of any industry. When Hamilton put forth the idea of a federal bank, Jefferson said it would violate anti-trust laws and laws of escheat.... cuz it would hand down central govt powers through private citizens inheritance. Degs is thinking that any reference to collusion is somehow a conspiracy theory. If the test for conspiracy is anti-trust laws then he has a point; a point that would be impossible to defend, as if you could in any way claim that the FED isn't a monopoly (it is the largest monopoly in the whole world - oil trade laws require participating nations to hold reserves in dollars to back their trades; the entire world banks their reserves at the NY-FED, it isn't just a national monopoly, it is a world wide monopoly... there is 20 times over our GDP held in reserves at the NY-FED... basically, the whole world banks at the NY-FED)

Americans do not understand how their own currency works, they do not know the history of our money, nor do they have a clue how the international finance market operates. There is big talk right now about making an adjustment to value for the dollar; this is done by the group of eight; the central banks buy up the currency; the central banks are so much larger than the ongoing trade that they can do that, this isn't conspiracy talk, this is how the market operates... but dumbass Americans are so ignorant, they read anything on finance and they scream "conspiracy" - because they see collusion; well, duh, hello, collusion has been around longer than we ever had these United States of America.
