We've just had five years of tough guys (remember GWB dressed up like a marine? when he announced mission accomplished? how many years have passed since then?). Not only is Iraq a bloodbath, our own country is in the worst shape it's been in my lifetime. Military strategy designed by people like George Bush and Hillary Clinton do not make us safer, they do exactly the opposite. After five years of war with Iraq, Basra is now governed by Shiite factions, some of which are as bad as the Taliban when it comes to women.
And if we are concerned about women's rights, why are we not bombing the Saudis? A woman cannot vote, own land, or drive in Saudi Arabia.
Hillary's tough talk is staggeringly dangerous and hypocritical as well. If she had carried the same platform during her primary run in California, that would at least exhibit some integrity - but she did not. She pulled it out (and her sudden adoration of Esther) right before the PA primary because her pollsters told her it would help her in the Philly suburbs. Again, the sudden adoration of Esther was insulting but not harmful, however, a political candidate claiming that she is ready to obliterate another country is madness.
I would also like to know when the last time Hillary spoke about any of the issues discussed here. Equal pay for equal work? Did you hear that in PA? Education for high school students, while STD rates are soaring? Teen pregnancy programs? An assurance that she would support judges who will not counter Roe vs. Wade? I don't remember hearing that in PA either. Rapes in the US military? When was the last time you heard Hillary discuss any of these issues? I've been watching and listening and I have not heard a word out of Hillary about the real problems which face American women since since she was in the San Francisco Bay Area. The only time Hillary Clinton discusses women's issues, or bias against women is when she's talking about Hillary Clinton.
