Repeat after me: Forgive and forget
by Gonzalo Lira
Repetition and simple lists are supposed to be the soul of good poetry? Of course, capped off with gratuitous sexual imagery—yes! THAT makes it a *deep* poem—what was I thinking? So the formula must be:

Repetitive sentence structure + everything-and-the-kitchen-sink listing + middle-to-late insertion of scatalogical and/or sexual imagery = GOOD POEM.

With such a formula, I bet ANYONE can be a good poet!! Thank you, Robert Pinsky!!
