I'm NOT knocking the medical advances. I AM knocking the military's apparent motivation.

To believe ANY military body actually puts a value on relieving human suffering, EXCEPT to have enough superiority of cannon fodder, is very naive.

"Today's permanent wound will be tomorrow's bad memory. Blow off our fingers, and we'll grow them back...." Goody goody! (Then it's back to the front lines, soldier.)

The Defense Department's assistant secretary for health declared a of "getting these people up to where they are functioning and reintegrated,..." back to the front lines, soldier.

"WOW, thanks! I was afraid you were going to send me to Walter Reed!"

"The government is budgeting $250 million in public and private money for the project's first five years." Let's see... 250 divided by 5... $50 mil a year... Ok, that's what, about three and a half days of this war?
