Purely in the basis of cost, Nuclear Power is a sham foisted on the American People. Seldom do we hear all the billions in subsidies used to get commercial power providers to build Atomic plants. The worst fact is that the price of windmill power has DROPPED by an order of magnitude and no self-respecting politician will advocate building a Nuclear plants.

Yes, I know, the propaganda is that there are not enough places to put all the windmill farms that would be needed. But, an EPA study made in 1991, claims the three states: North Dakota, Kansas and Texas have the wind currents needed to provide ALL the electric power needed in the ENTIRE nation. Not surprisingly, Texas moved California to second place in the production of electricity from windmills. Now, Texas can sell more oil, from wells in Texas, refined in Texas and sold in Texas at the prices dictated by the foreign OPEC Cartel, that would be illegal in the U.S. How do they get away with that? Yes, I know, he ia from Texas and an oilman.

Add, to this the drop in the windmill farm power contracts that dropped the price of a Kilowatt-Hour of electricity from 29 cents, that's right, Twenty nine cents, down to Three (3) cents, in recent long term contracts. No wonder PG&E is making more profits and has not build a single powerplant, Nuclear, oil or gas powered in many years, and plans none.

None of the Nuclear power plants would survive without federal subsidies and now, with the price of oil ten to tewnty times higher than it was when the Nuclear plants were build, you would have expected a mad rush to build more of them, instead, there have been only three applications for a license. No doubt, our next President will make sure that these are not approved, unless our current President makes another end run to tie the hands of the next President. Can you remember voting for him?
