Pooch ala Mode Against Abrahamic Faiths
by Usama2

While I am not an expert on the religious laws of the 3 Abrahamic faiths, it is my understanding that all 3 oppose eating land animals that are carnivores. At least the Jewish and Islamic religious laws forbid this. I estimate that the more orthodox Christian denomitations would agree.

In this sense, the religious text reenforce and hold up the more recent medical justification. Carnivores eat raw meat, including meat which contains diseases and parasites which can possibly be passed on to humans.

More specifically,-sorry for the graphic depictions- dogs have a highly versatile pallet, including eating their own vomit, feces of other animals such as cats, carrion, garbage of all kinds including human feces (baby diapers included).

Thus, consuming carnivores such as dogs is a violation of the Jewish, Islamic, and at least the Orthodox Christian tradition. So the onus to avoid consuming Fido when living paycheck to paycheck has higher origins than just one's conscience: God said DON'T.

BTW, God also said be kind to your neighbors, so pick up that poop so we don't reconsider Pooch ala Mode. ;)
