Re: Debate Recap--Who to vote for? Redux Redo
by jeqal

The Republicans are not satisfied with McCain, many are not going to vote, and Hillary is not enough incentive for them to go to the polling booths. However, if Hillary could dredge up a conservative enough candidate, Orin Hatch would be great, then I think that would probably get the Rep non-voters out to vote for Hillary, that would be enough to get her the election. She will become a popular choice once she begins debates with McCain, she really nailed the Senate hearings, she was the most erudite person there, and she pulled Levin out of his lengthy morass. She's the type of spokesperson that makes sense when she talks.

McCain's wife hurts him a bit as well.

And yes I do think the VP will be a big factor in this race. You might as well mark this post.

I direct this to Dawn as well. Thinking anyone will be satisfied with their candidate being veep is nonsense. That is a clumsy way to try and mend fences.

Dems are obsessed with vote fraud. If either one loses to either one, the supporters of the other will be mightily miffed. Not to the extent that polls suggest. People are blowing off steam there. But enough to swing the election.

The Dream Ticket ain't happening. It would only serve as a reminder of the general pissed-offnitude that Dems harbor.

jeqal:

I think this is where the selection of the VP is going to make or break the election.

If Hillary selects a VP that people really resonate with, she wins. (unless 2 makes as equal a great choice)

If McCain selects a VP that is not more conservative than him then he loses (unless 1 makes a bad choice)

Hillary will have to deal with national stereotypes of gender, really based on the feminists movement's inability to get behind the non-barbies as strongly as the barbie's. (Barbie bosses are a bitch to work for if you are a woman). McCain is moderate, that is his crutch. He's also older and people in the workplace know how antiquated these old guys ideas are. They can't hardly work their own computer to do email. That could work against him.

Obama has done a lot to improve the image of Bush so the DNC campaign no longer has the momentum it had before the elections.

The DNC needs to oust Kennedy, he's factious and divisive and has lost the DNC more than one election.

Carter should renegotiate peace talks with the Hamas and give the Hamas 10 miles of Georgia. That should resolve the peace and get Carter back on track with what is important to OUR country and not who will help make Israel bow down to him.

Gore needs to begin knowing who he can rely on. I doubt if Hill and Bill are going to give him whatever energy policies Obama has promised, but whatever it is, it is more likely to get done than Obama's promise you now to get what I want, forget about it later.....oh you misunderstood me.....

Richardson needs a handbook that explains why long term friends expect people to vote for them, implied in that of course is "what's in it for me", which I believe is Hillary did not promise anything and Obama probably overhoped a promise which will become......well if it wasn't for Hillary and Bill I would do that but.............

Obama still has not had to contend with Odinga and the mess in Kenya, I don't think he will survive that when it's spun. Unless Kenya can keep it together for 6 months, which I doubt. I do believe he is narcissistic and if his ego is ever truly punched he would not be able to recover.

Michelle is living in a fantasy world of Obama is the Messiah, as if America is some hick third world country with a bunch of undereducated overly religious hicks running around and belief in some Messiah to...to do what exactly? I find it extremely patronizing
