This certainly validates my experience. Beginning in grade school, for me the recurring theme was rejection by the most attractive girls. After a while you adjust your self-assessment of your marketability. Eventually you find a buyer. Then you begin to notice that the most attractive women, the holdouts, are not able to find anyone good enough. Years later you are older and able to get away with telling the complaining single beauty - "You're just too damned picky, my dear!"
