I always give my friends shit when they drive two blocks away to pick up their kids from soccer practice. They insist that the world is more dangerous now than it was when we were kids, but the statistics say the opposite. The media has people more scared than in those days, but actual violent crime statistics are at 40 year lows.. and dropping.

Plus the way some parents bundle up their kids with protective gear!?! Fracking kids have to wear body armor just to go rollerblading? We didn't even wear a stitch of gear, and we hit asphalt daily....
