You have been struck down by the Sickeness of Our Times.
(The suing of those in the medical profession for personal profit)
In my rural community Obstetricians no longer practice, One reason being the high cost of insurance needed to protect them from phoney malpractice lawsuits. The other reason being the huge increase in pregnant young women addicted to various drugs and the medical complications that resulted from these addictions on pregnancies carried to term.
Today, to the best of my knowledge we do have a practicing midwife.
I bring this to your attention in order to demonstrate that you are not alone when it comes to facing a bogus malpractice suit.
I do hope that you prevail and that you continue to practice even as you know that you can be financially ruined by those who seek profit in the courts of today.
Tort Reform...hasn't our Congress over too many years refused to consider and enact Tort Reform that would protect our medical communty from financial ruin?
I believe so
Good luck.
PS your posting of the circumstances as you remember them while they are fresh in your mind will serve you well when attacked in court. Your memory can be refreshed by accessing your posted notes.
