Attractive male shortage
by genebo
The writer makes a case that is not only cogent but one which squares well with a lifetime 0f personal and professional experience. Women generally mature earlier insocial skills. Men/boys tend to be more attuned to doing rather than feeling, and relations with attractive partners of either sex tend to focus on sexual success, a coalition of the willing to borrow a phrase. Those males for whom a relationship is more important than a sexual conquest canbe overcome by an assertive woman or bow out of the competitive fray due to their shyness, or lack of social skils, or by virtue of minimal levels of social attractiveness. A vivid memory in my own life is how a group of indifferent female coworkers suddenly got very interested in me the day that I commented that I was engaged. If somebody wanted me I must be worth another look.
Where women go wrong is in being so susceptible to any alpha male, whether its a football player of a Henry Kissinger. But the male with social skills can trump the alpha. They are just hard to find among yonger men.
