didn't they mention that?

Well, it has only been five years and there's so much to talk about, it must have slipped their minion minds. Why are we still there? Well, duh, because the Bush administration shut down all our bases in Saudi Arabia and opened up new ones in Iraq... wonderful welcome and all, haven't they mentioned how the natives shower our bases with flowers everyday? We liberated then, you know, it's a great place to plant our middle east strategic defenses.
The Senators all know we are sunk in up to our eyeballs in those new bases, so there's no point in upsetting the American people and telling them that we built them there; why mention the 400 square mile Air base we built right in the heart of the Sunni triangle? People might ask embarrassing questions, like, why we decided the heart of the Sunni triangle was the right place to plant the world's busiest airport. It's best to just not talk about it.
