I've read some manga, but I must say I find their stories to meander a bit. Consider Death Note. Nice concept, too many twists and turns which lead back to basic good v evil in the end. Annoying when you think of it. I find that Marvel is pretty good with blurring the lines between good and evil.

If Arlington is interested he/she should check out the recent treatment of Hulk in Planet Hulk and World War Hulk. Things aren't as black and white in those issues. Comics have come a looong way.
