Of course if you are going to fry them, you will need to add fat to the pan as their meat is very lean. My grandfather used to bring home squirrels. Grandma would boil them after they were dressed out & made ready for cooking. He would just take along his knife & skin them where he shot them. They had more meat than the quail he also brought home. Never went hungry with the garden supplemented by the game...
