Pot meet Kettle!

I agree with many of the complaints in the article, but SLATE has it's own set of peeve-worthy link habits. (others have mentioned to painfully intrusive tabs, so I will simply echo those complaints)

I often find myself trying to guess where a slate link will lead:

a) another article in Slate, often by the same author

b) Wikipedia (this is so ubiquitous I often wonder if Slate *really* needs/wants a new "Explainer")

c) Atlantic Monthly (I confess, as a lapsed subscriber I am always hoping for this one to come up)

I don't know if I'm jaded or if the pre-link disclosure have just made it painfully obvious, but I actually never find myself trying to guess if a link will take me to NYT or the WP...I usually just avoid any links to those sites. I cannot say if this is my own bias about the reporting/repeating present on Slate/NYT/WP, but it is rare that I find myself seeing anything from those (linked) sources that actually strikes me as being particularly expansive of my own understanding of the (particular) issue.
