Re: View from an Orlando native

I can sympathize and understand your point of view. I have lived in two very touristy towns-San Francisco and Santa Cruz, CA-and the thought of riding the Boardwalk roller-coaster and cable cars still nauseates me (and it's not motion sickness I'm referring to). But, these places also have their charms and you can pick and choose those aspects of anything-WDW included-that you like and discard the rest. This has become an unsafe and dangerous world. I, for one, love the idea that there is a place I can take my kids and know they will be (relatively) safe and (probably) have a fun and memorable trip. You don't have to buy the stuff they are selling, you don't have to eat on Disney property, you don't have to even shlep your family to all the rides. There are wonderful sit-down shows, relaxing boat rides, firework shows and just strolling the grounds.
