----Arkady’s statement below, under “Hitchens – liar or halfwit” (04/01/2008, 1:23 PM ), That Hillary wouldn’t dare lie -- because she’d be afraid of being caught and shamed -- doesn’t apply to the Clintons. They have gotten away with, and benefited from, so many outrageous lies for so many years, that they have become lies.

----For example, Hillary, got away with the absolutely unbelievable lie of telling America in one of the most quoted lines from one of her best selling books that she first learned Bill had been unfaithful to her days after the whole nation knew Bill’s semen was on Monica’s dress, years after she appointed Maggie Williams to handle Bill’s bimbo eruptions, more years after she first started hiring private detectives to keep track of and dig up dirt on Bill’s many sex partners, and even more years after she intimidated Juanita Broaddrick to keep quiet after Bill had brutally raped her.

----The mainstream media has never called her on this obvious, outrageous, and stupendously self-serving lie. So if she can get away with such hyper-obvious lies as that, what would stop someone as selfish and dishonest as Hillary from lying about her “foreign policy” experience in Bosnia?

----The number of other obvious lies Hillary has gotten away with is far too large to list. Most important among them are the many obvious lies the media has let slip that the Clintons have used to hide the outrageously suspicious nature of Vince Foster, Ron Brown, and Jim McDougal’s deaths.

----How do they get away with such lies. Power. They are masters of blackmail, intimidation, threats, and probably worse. They are also masters at rewarding people and buying them off. Hillary had secrets about the private lives of 900 of America’s most powerful politician’s illegally copied from FBI files into her dirty tricks database. Many credit the her resulting ability to blackmail much of Washington as one of the main reasons her husband’s impeachment being limited to his more minor crimes, helping to prevent him from being forced from office. When the Juanita Broaddrick story was going to be aired during Bill’s impeachment -- something that was directly relevant to the perjury charges against bill, because it indicated such perjury was not just to protect his family, but rather to hide just how criminal and psychologically serious Bill’s sexual preditation was -- White House aides called up networks, which have many vulnerable regulatory interests, and threatened them with severe punishment if the story ran before the impeachment was over. When Kathleen Wiley was ordered to testify about her molestation by Bill, her family cat was killed and placed on her porch, her electricity was cut off in the night when her neighbor’s was not, a jogger ran by and asked her if she knew where her kids were, all extremely serious threats if you know they are coming from the most powerful man in the world.

----That’s the level of lies and crimes the Clintons are used to getting away with, and that is why neither of them should ever be allowed in the White House, ever again.
