Black men are not gorillas
by wordgirl

The cover is only racist if you think that a black man must necessarily remind the viewer of King Kong. What I see is not a gorilla and a damsel in distress, but a couple of extremely attractive celebrities frolicing. I don't get a sexual subtext either. I think they look like friends. Models. Which is what they are. I would suggest that the racism is in the eye of the beholder who sees a big black man and immediately thinks, "Gorilla." Is all the fuss because his mouth is open, like he's shouting or yelling? Is that what's supposed to make us all think of a gorilla?

He's a man, not a gorilla, people.
