a shame about pullman
by mdschill

I had avoided Lost Highway for a while, then finally rented it -- and almost turned it off when Bill Pullman started playing the saxophone. I like Bill Pullman in some roles, but he is egregiously miscast in this movie. There is no menace in him, and his character needs to have some underlying threatening tones. Unlike a lot of Lynch's male protagonists (Kyle Machlachlan, Nicolas Cage) Pullman is too pretty -- his face doesn't have any lived-in character. He just seems annoyed when he's supposed to be threatening.

That said, i loved the rest of the movie. I can't wait to own the DVD.
