Reminds me of what Harry Truman said...
by slatepublius

about having to pick from among five candidates for an important appointment by the President. Paraphrasing from memory, Harry said that it always left you with four enemies and one ingrate.

No bigger ingrate has appeared so far this year than Bill Richardson who would likely be an obscure Congressman except for Bill Clinton's patronage.

There's no mystery about Richardson's move, is there? He sees clearly that Obama will be the nominee, has a good chance to be President, and wants to get an even bigger job from President Obama than he got from Bill. Secretary of State?

I suppose "that's politics" and obviously Truman's cynicism tells us this sort of thing is nothing new. Still, I'd be pissed of I were Clinton. Carville was right on about a "Judas," and Richardson had better hope Hillary Clinton never becomes President.
