Re: On Uncontrolled Spawning (i.e. You Are a Baby Factory)

I live in an area of large families. Some due to religion (I am with you on that one) and some just because. It is also a low cost of living, family oriented community that seems to draw families to it.

I have four kids. I am not religious and if I was I would not let a pastor decide how many children I ought to have. I have never used government assistance. All of my pregnancies were planned. We are not wealthy. We have just made it our priority to have a larger family, raised the old fashioned way. So far so good. My kids usually behave very well in public but I will not lie to you and tell you that I have never gotten the evil eye from strangers judging me about a childs behavior. I think that every mom experiences those bad days.

I completely agree that people need to make decisions about their lives and make them responsibly and with purpose. I have little respect for someone who purposefully (or heck even accidentally, as there are plenty of bc options) has babies when they are going to rely on any public assistance.

Your points are made well without the added color of terms like popping out babies. Which, by the way, sounds much more pleasant than the reality. Not to encourage your fear but you pop gum into your mouth. You pop popcorn. You pop a top on a champagne bottle. You do not pop a baby out. ;-)
