Self righteousness aside, how is he wrong? Clinton got caught telling really, really sloppy lies. Twice now, don't forget the whole Edmund Hillary affair.

Bill Clinton made promises (right or wrong) that we would make some sort of intervention to prevent genocide in Bosnia in 1992. I voted for him at the time and I remember the promises, in fact, it's one of the reasons I voted for him (I had spent some time in Yugoslavia doing medical work and felt a bit of an emotional tie to the country). He didn't make any intervention until 1996. There was a big joke about the self-congratulatory nature of the intervention. Remember the movie, Wag the Dog?

Hitch might take the argument a bit far, but he's essentially right. Do tell, what are your counterarguments?
