Because it's not simply greed in this country. I'm sure anyone of any other race would be greedy, if given the opportunity. The problem, in this country, is that most that have the opportunity, and thus are successful in their greed, are white people.

That you even imagine you can sum up American history in two or three sentences indicates exactly the problem here. But just so that you aren't confused...

I wasn't attempting to sum up American history in a few sentences, but this is only a comment section after all. I would offer you a more detailed reply but I think a history book would do you better.

Rich people have the most money and power. Most white people are not rich. The wealth and power one has at one's disposal does not necessarily reflect that person's "greed". Only a simpleton would view the world so shallowly.

Um, yeah, and what race are the majority of rich people in this country?

No one said it was "unusual" for whites to have slaves. The point is, in regard to the United States, whites have been dominant in both wealth and power. The U.S. is also credited with being the most powerful nation in the world. Do you see where this is going? I'm not sure why you have a hard time believing that.
