I see Obama and his supporters as long on hope and short on vision. The abject adulation displayed in this top post is more than a little disconcerting to me. It borders on worship. A well delivered speech does not make a great statesman. Words come easy for Obama. Speech making appears to be his strongest asset. Deeds are the measure of the man. He is a young fellow and will doubtless have plenty of chances to build and show his character. I would rather see him come of age in a position a little less potentially world shaping. The blind faith that you seem to share with the "tearful Wolley" is unattractive and unimpressive to me.
I am not particularly excited about any of the three choices we're left with. I believe that better men have dropped out. I supported John Edwards. I can live with Obama as the Democratic candidate but the country cannot afford to blindly trust him. If he does get the nomination I won't vote for him. I will look for a third party candidate to support. Obama's supporters and detractors should not take their eyes off him for an instant.
