Of course the race is not over. It is not even close to over. I am starting to put my money on Al Gore.
Primaries are about the will of the party. And I would bet on a brokered convention like 1948 R or 1952 D.
Brokered Conventions happen BECAUSE the party determines that the candidates are not different enough in votes to be significant. Regardless of Sen. Obama's claim, essentially that '1 vote more means that I win", party rules are there for a reason; namely that when there is no majority OVER A PREDETERMINED THRESHOLD, then experienced politicians make the decision based on WHO IS THE MOST ELECTABLE in the General election. Obama will NOT make it over that threshold, so if the "Race is over" then NOBODY WON.
The logical choice here is Clinton/Obama which would pretty much guarantee 16 years of D in the White House, provided they could push through some kind of Universal Health Insurance. Obama/Clinton certainly would not and might not even beat McCain. Al Gore with many permutations are better choices than Obama leading the ticket.
A Gore/Bloomberg ticket would be a sure winner as well.
