I acknowledged that religious texts do call for death, often senseless and silly. However, when I mentioned religious texts, I was more referring to your insistence about the "Catholic Church teachings". Yeah, they teach that - but it has nothing to do with the Bible, just archaic ideals and general misreadings/taking words out of context, at best.

This argument will lead nowhere, I fear. Let's suffice it to say that some religious people are really, really stupid and will do whatever they are told is right, or whatever they assume is right, while others are not quite as stupid (and, hey, maybe some even think...for themselves....sometimes....no? too soon? sorry :)
