Re: HBO geniuses...
by BrooklynFan

LOW BUDGET seems to be the main focus at HBO these days, which is a shame. John From Cinc., In Treatment, Big Love, Tell Me You Love Me, Entourage - all shot in Southern Cali & sound stages. & they LOOK cheap (well, maybe not John From Cinc.)

HBO appears to be done with the ambitious, cinematic, on-location dramas of Rome, Sopranos, The Wire, Deadwood...

The fools in charge now lack creative vision, or the understanding that HBO has been at the forefront of American filmmaking the past 8-9 years. If they really looked, they could find other creative minds out there like Chase, Simon, & Miltch - filmmakers who can create gripping, original American dramas that continue to shame Hollywood's recyling strategy.

When we look back in 10 years, the true miracle of a network that had "The Wire," "Deadwood," & "The Sopranos" on a the same time will be apparent. What a shame there's noone in charge at HBO who understands what they had and are loosing.
