As for Mel Gibson and Michael Richards not I do not believe they are racist! I wasn't given enough information to formulate my opinion. Mel Gibson made those comments during a drunken stupor and even if he wasn't drunk, how do we know he wasn't speaking about the jews in the movie. It's amazing the mess that gets started from eavesdropping or catching the tail end of a conversation.

Michael Richards made those comments on stage under a spotlight. Misguided as he was he's a comedian just trying to get laughs. When you lose a steady paying job, your material tends to get a little edgy. Besides people are only comfortable listening to Black jokes when they are being told by Black people. This is the kind of double standard that makes me sick too. Had he been Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Bernie Mack etc no one would have batted an eye!!
