Yeah, it looks like the detractors finally found a scary negro to tie Obama to. I agree with you: the traction this thing is getting is disgusting and embarrassing, despite Barack's classy and encouraging response to it all.

Even in the mainstream media, I've been reading about "black churches" all the stuff that could (and probably should) be said about, you know, "churches" but none of them ever dares. For comparison, Clinton spiritual pal and crowd exciter in his own right Billy Graham has come out for bombing foreigners on occasion. (I rest assured that Obama will come around on that one. Patriotism and politics, you know.)

On the other hand, I haven't seen much talk of "the other" in the blogosphere (except for in the predictable places). Probably means that I'm an overly selective reader more than anything.
