(חג פירים) Today is the first day of Purim
by White_Rabbit

The first day of Purim started on Thursday evening at sunset. The second day (aka Shushan Purim) will start on Friday evening at sunset, and coincide with the weekly Sabbath. (I don't know how that latter fact affects Judaic observance of the holiday. It would be interesting to find out.)

Too bad this week isn't my turn for Thursday OPP. I could've dealt with the Book of Esther, which (while normally considered "narrative") is more lyrical (in its melopoesis) than any other book of the Hebrew Bible save the Song of Songs. Here is a taste of why I say that (YouTube - "teamim" channel).
