the question of going to war to prevent Saddam from imminently obtaining the dangerous kinds of WMD's is also a lot different from the question of going to war to enforce the technicalities of the Gulf War cease fire. The latter, in my mind, isn't worth the lives of very many people.
NO--they are wrapped up in one another. The unfinished business end of this from Gulf I does not need to be confused with what I said earlier in that per the Duelfer Report, he wanted those WMD back and played a waiting game. However, before this it WAS widely believed that he had those WMD based on the known info and the fact that with one variety he gassed the Kurds. This is not conjecture, unhappily, but fact.
