After all, isn't everyone a "lame duck" on some level? Aren't all of us on the down hill side of some kind of tenure? Like the "Slutty Flight Attendant" Lady said today: "Life is too short." Why, I ask you, should we put our States, towns, neighborhoods, houses, or apartments "through all that?"

It seems perfectly clear to me. We should get it over with, bow out, and just "move on." Not quitting, as Alaska's now former Governor explained, ". . . is being a quitter."

I agree with the sentiment. But I think as the amazing Sarah demonstrated today one must be pretty darn important to effect such amazing and powerful change just by resigning two years early from your current job. One has to be pretty high up, with ones perfectly polished nail on the pulse of a nation.

Yes, it takes a pretty special and ... well... mavericky person to do a better job for the people of the nation by resigning her job as one of 50 governer's and to work outside the government to get herself an even bigger job inside government. Yessirree. You betcha.

I don't underestimate her. I don't disagree that she can produce amazing results (read that: boners in old white men) and perhaps bring some serious doom into the land.

But I still can't stand her.

A deal has been cut somewhere. Palin is not about altruism despite how she tries to sell herself. Palin is all about Palin. Simply by keeping herself in the news, she wins. At least for the moment.

Didn't Reagan resign from something? I think he must have resigned from something, right?
