Everyone is getting way off track here. Talk of submission, exploitation and fettishes are all off base. I have dated white women and Asian women and I just prefer Asian women, in general I find them more attractive... it is a preference, nothing more. When I first started dating my current Asian gf, she saw that my previous gf was also Asian and she accused me of having some sort of Asian fetish, but what was funny is that she only ever dated white dudes!! So I asked her how she was any different from me. We had a good laugh over it.

Besides everything in the US is dominated by the blonde babe, as men we are saturated with white women in magazines, movies, ads, etc. I just got bored of seeing the same thing. If there were more Asian women in the media, they wouldn't seem so exotic!

Anyways, the submissive thing comes from cultural aspects, most of the Asian girls I have had the pleasure of dating were adopted and grew up in America and were (are) strong, assertive and powerful women. It is not about submission (boring!), it is purely aesthetics, better eyes, better skin, better hair, better face.

That's funny. I grew up in the '70s and came of age in the early '80s. I always felt back then, particularly during the Farah Fawcett era, that blonde blue-eyed babes were put forth as the most desirable look. All about blondes. Coming from a blonde, blue-eyed (or rather, green-eyed) family, I found the blondes that all the guys were drooling over as boring.

I have always gone for the brunettes, especially Latina and Southern European/Middle Eastern looking. Living in So. Cal has always made it easy to find hot Latinas.

Over the past twenty years it seems that blonde as the ultimate sex symbol seems to have dramatically faded. I'm very glad that we are more able to embrace all different ethnicities and ethnic looks as sexy. We have gone so far in that direction (with the exception of platinum blonde dye jobs as kitsch) that it seems blondes are hard to find.

For some reason I do not generally find myself attracted to Asian women, even the real pretty ones. Perhaps too doll-like or something. I don't know.

Yeah, i agree with you, most of the so called sex symbols even now don't do it for me. Most of them are white and blond. One day for lack of anything better to do or due to a profound bout of laziness my Korean gf and I were watching "the 100 hottest women" or some such garbage on VH1. We were both appalled (but not that surprised), ~80% white (most blonde) a few token black, a few Brazilian or other south American, I think there was one, maybe two Asian.

I've always preferred brunettes too, there was a Hungarian woman that worked a few labs down that was knock-down-drag out gorgeous. The skinny, blonde babe is utterly boring to me (Once my Korean gf bleached her hair blonde and it made me irrate...okay I have to admit it was pretty damned hot). However, maybe I should shut up, I've always thought that Asian girls are one of those best kept secrets, I don't really want them to get more popular with the alpha males out there....

Why is it then when a white guy is into Asian women people will say he has a "fetish" but people never say that guys that are into blonde white girls have a fetish?

different strokes for different folks.... For most people, that is all it is. We can easily over analyze why you feel one person, look, hair color, body type, or race is more attractive than another. Let it be!!!

Split-S, the larger question is why male preferences are demonized? Why are men that have a strong preference for a certain type of woman called a pervert? Real blondes at 1% are nearly extinct. American women have capitalized on this male fetish within the last few decades with hair bleach. Darkening their skin with sun tanning makes the hair appear even lighter.

And the female equivalent fetish is ignored. Ever see women get all giddy when they have a chance to go out on a date with a doctor? Are women that state their dating preferences for doctors considered perverts? No. There are so many soap operas and dramas made for women that center on the social and economic fantasies of women that desire doctors. Women that seek wealthy men for their wealth are termed gold diggers. Why is there no term for the surgeon chasers?
