Many points worthy of pointing out:

1) European sea men spent **months** on the high seas before arriving in Asia. US marines spent some time on these ships too. So yeah, by that point, pretty much anything will look good. Its hard to argue these guys don't have a skewed perceptive. Never mind the fear of getting shot and today being your last day. This really isn't an apples to apples comparison, is it?

2) Guys in general, all things being equal, will prefer whatever they're not used to. That means that anything thats "exotic" will count as extra hot. I would imagine Janapese and Chinese guys think white women are pretty hot too

3) Ok, yes, there will always be bitchy women whining about other women stealing "their women". White women will bitch that Asian women are stealing their men. Black and Indian women will bitch that white women are taking all the black guys. Italian women in New Jersey will complain black women are taking all the Italian dudes. But they're the vocal minority, see below....

4) Off course that shouldn't be a licenses to be an anti-American women dick. If you're a white guy who prefers Asian women (and there's nothing wrong with that), then say so. But if you have to justify it by ranting off how "fat, ugly, egotistical" white American women are, theres a reasonable chance you just want the submissive part. Preferences are preferences and that is that, but if you must try so hard to justify them and convince everyone you really aren't into them just for the submissiveness thats just going to backfire. The "non-egotistical" arguement will just make you even less convincing.

5) Face it. Asian women look younger (and flatter). Ok, yes, they're skinnier, but less busty, which is the tradeoff I guess. If you prefer that, thats fine; and if you are a pedophile, even better. I mean better be with a 30-year-old Asian woman that looks 15 than an actual 15-year-old. Guys traditionally (meaning past tense) prefered younger women. I mean real young. Back in 1700's, it was considered normal for 21 year old men to marry 13 year old girls. If you were a 30 year old woman back then, and unmarried, you were an old maid. Except for Asian women, who perpetually look young. Back then, young (13) = hot, so Asian = hot.

6) Ok, during the old west, guys outnumbered women, greatly. Asian brothels popped up. I am sure that screwed perceptions considerbly. See point #1.

7) Some of the claims in the article are just bs. Like for starters that Europe was so much sexually repressed and all. Because the Vatican said sex is bad. A little note: the church back then, while no fans of fun sex, had much bigger fish to fry. Their top priorities were fending off the Jews, collecting church taxes, petty fights with monarchs, fighting the Darwins and grave diggers of their day. Hell, even anarchists and communists ranked higher than fun sex as their priority. More to the point, prostitution in Europe was widespread and Shakespear himself (subsidized by the RCC) lived in and out of whore houses. Bluntly put, the Vatican didn't say don't have fun and debunkery sex. They said "here's your bill, you owe us X in back sin taxes".

Hey, its 2009. We no longer have an Old West and 13 is no longer legal, much less hot. Those two factors migitate any extra bonus hotness points that Asian women would have scored 100 years ago.

Point 5, the crux of your argument, is completely wrong, borderline racist, and insulting to all parties involved. Men who like Asian women do not think they look like prepubescent boys, even if your gay friends think so. (Since when did gay men become experts on what hetero men are attracted to, anyway?) The canard that Asiaphilia has something to do with latent pedophilia started with some hateful rant written a couple years back by a white feminist, and has no basis in any kind of reality.

The truth is, increasingly Westernized diets in Asia have resulted in a good amount of women who have the refined facial features and flawless skin typical of that part of the world, but with the curves of a white woman (and usually without the tendency to gain weight in the middle). Many of the top Japanese and Korean models have this look. I would guess that white guys with Asiaphilia mostly prefer this type, invalidating the nasty old canard you seem intent on bringing up.

Point 6, true, but what does that have to do with interracial dynamics today?

Point 7, also dead wrong. Have you any idea that the Vatican had no control over England in the 16th-century, and that Catholicism was even outlawed? Shakespeare might have been Catholic, but the proof is sketchy, and there's no proof at all that he was "subsidized by the RCC." Get your own facts straight before criticizing others' historical arguments.

If all 7 of these points were to prove that Asian women aren't hot except to pedophiles, then you've done a piss-poor job at explaining why this pairing is widespread.

Well said, Junggai! Especially good point about the white so-called feminist who originally came up with the racist 'Asian women look like pubescent boys' insult. Stupid. Reminds that like poor white folk who were once one of the biggest impediments to black equal rights, there ARE white women (who very much like white men) have grown accustomed to living in a world where THEY are always judged as highest and best. So, when these Asian women begin receiving a fraction of 'their' acclaim, well, it threatens their sense of entitlement (of racial superiority) doesn't it? If you are one of these angry white women, let me scare you more. I know a Chinese woman very well who does not have to shave her legs OR use anti-perspirant. Period. There is no need.

I totally agree, and I am sick of this prepubescent thing. Every asian woman I have dated had hips and were actually quite busty. My current Asian gf has the most perfect (and real) boobs I've ever seen.

There is no doubt that men find pubescent and sub-20 year old women attractive and 35+ year old women far less attractive. The legal climate has changed over only the last 100 years to criminalize this male preference. This age has increased from 16 to 18 years. Soon, it will be 21 years. You have to respect American adult men for a largely successful self-repression of their natural desires by demonstrating that they can avoid intimate engagements with minors.

The parallel does not exist for women as they are not lining up to date eighteen year or even newly pubescent boys. Women's behavior is experiencing an expansion of expression.
