of the Fray looks great. The highlighted posts are working and its nice to see new articles being brought to our attention. For the first time since the reboot into the modern system all of the text and the links are fully visible in the boxes. Thanks for fixing this.

There have been some requests that many would like to see some of the features from the "old" Fray returned. The old system was riddled with major flaws and technical problems, everyone including those pining for a return of the "stellar" days whined and moaned incessantly about the problems the old system had. What we have now is an equitable program where no one is allowed preferential treatment over others and the Fray is a far better place because of it. The old star system that some seem to want back so badly was terribly flawed. It created some really ugly and arrogant posters who berated and attacked any newcomer that did not pay proper homage to them. Some are still visible today.

This poster would like to suggest that Slate and The Fray leave the past in the past and continue to link to other interesting sites, left, right and center. In fact the only thing that would be nice to see are the old check marked posts if they are still archived anywhere.

Consider offering pocket T-shirts or polo's for sale, made in the USA of course. Offer a free hat for any poster who manages to earn ten check-marked posts in a given period. That will add a real world incentive for quality effort.

Who has asked for a return of

the old Star system? Has anyone on this board? I doubt it. As for the flaws and technical problems of the Old Fray, WHICH old Fray are you referring to. There have been MANY renditions since this place opened for business.

What some people are asking for a return of are some of the things that actually did work BETTER than aspects of today's system. Once such thing is the removal of the posts rating system and a return of the Ignore feature.

You don't need an ignore switch

You simply ignore every point and fact that doesn't suit your childish purposes anyway. If you don't want to read a post don't open it, in your case since you cannot respond maturely to anyone who is not telling you how smart you are you'd need to block 95% of the posters on the Fray.

As for the rest, give it a rest, you're as transparent as fine crystal while having none of its value.

I am still waiting for some quality posting by you. Something to indicate you're even 1/5th as good as you claim to be. Hit counts on flame bait is not an indicator of quality writing or thinking. Anyone can act like a putz.

"Anyone can act like a putz..." noteworthy!

We might consider it for the new motto of the WOTF, what say you? Or perhaps for the U.S. Congress? (I'm jes' sayin'...)
