Chuck Norris?

The most interesting man is Chuck Norris. At least, the voiceover is lifted almost straight out of that annoying Chuck Norris meme. I'm pretty sure the "awkward moment" and "his beard has had a more interesting life..." lines both were pulled straight from the Chuck Norris website.

Beneath Chuck Norris's beard? A third fist.

I thought of Internet Chuck Norris too, and I agree those one-liners were very likely inspired by that meme at some level. But they weren't lifted wholesale -- the Most Interesting Man represents a different kind of masculinity from Chuck's action hero type. E.g. one of the commercials has "He's a lover, not a fighter. But he's also a fighter, so don't get any ideas." -- I don't think anyone would call Chuck Norris a "lover".

Heh... True quirky genius would depict the actual results of alcohol consumption. Showing the "Most Interesting Man" in jail for DUI and Vehicular Homicide, or better yet, dripping blood in the emergency room would be much more entertaining.

Funny though, these ads never seem to show the shattered lives that result from consumption of these products. Funnier still is all the chest beating about smoking, yet alcohol destroys far more lives and nothing is done beyond approving Sunday sales.

Drink on!

You may see these as coming from the Chuck Norris meme. I see a definite similarity to the introductions for The Stig on the BBC car show Top Gear. "Some say that his tears are adhesive, and if he caught fire he'd burn for a thousand days. All we know is he's called The Stig!" That was an intro for The Stig from 2005. They've gotten more and more outrageous over the years.
