Re: Why do the Hillary lovers hate Obama?
by bananaboat

So you’re comfortable with the idea that Obama is friends and/or associates with racists, radicals, subversives, dissidents, people that tried to overthrow the government by blowing up government buildings and whoever were inside at the time, and those who actively support Islamic terrorism against the United States and our allies? You’re ok with the fact that he chose Reverend Wright as his spiritual advisor and attended his church for most of his adult life? You’re ok with his close friendships with men like:

Tony Rezko (convicted mobster)

Mousa Marzook (known leader of Hamas, guilty of numerous acts of terrorism against the United States and Israel)

Louis Farrakhan (leader of the Nation of Islam, racist, anti-Semite, and homophobe)

Muammar al-Gaddafi (Islamic extremist, racist, sworn enemy of the United States, funder and supporter of Islamic terrorism against the united states and her allies)

Allison Davis (crooked lawyer that hired Obama at his law firm, business partner of convicted felon Rezko)

Abongo Obama (Obama’s bother, radical Muslim, Marxist, wants Obama to convert back to Islam, supporter of Raila Odinga Obama who is the Prime Minister of Kenya and wants to institute Sharia law)

William Ayers (radical, dissident, founder of the Weathermen who were a domestic terrorist organization during the 60’s that wanted to overthrow the United States government and therefore bombed numerous government buildings and military recruiting centers during the Vietnam War, gathered money with the help of Obama and used another of Obama’s friends to filter it to the PLO in the late 70’s to early 80’s)

Rashid Khalidi (director in Beirut of the anti-Israeli press agency FAFA, anti-Semitic, supporter and funder of Islamic terrorism against the United States and Israel, direct ties to the PLO)

Are you ok with this? I’m not. As such, I believe that anyone that would support Obama and vote for him must be out of their minds. It’s either that or they agree with these people and I really don’t like that prospect.

In order to be an excellent president one must have the skills, ability, desire, and determination to do so. One must have an unwavering love of country. Based on what I know of Obama I cannot say that he has any of these qualities. If elected I believe he will be a terrible president, worse than Bush in fact.

  • Barbara Mikulski (Oh, how I'd love her as POTUS or VP)
  • Diane Feinstein
  • Mary Landrieu
  • Janet Napolitano
  • Kathleen Sebelius

I would vote for any of these women over Hillary (although if Hillary had won, I would have chosen her over McCain, as any pro-choice woman should).

This arrogance that I sense in the Obama campaign is very evident in many of the posts I read on this forum. So, the only reason anyone would have to criticize Obama is because they are sore losers? (Even those of us who didn't support Hillary?) Obama supporters, they seem to say, are highly thoughtful intellectuals who planned and worked for their victory. Apparently, they got no help from a sympathetic media or powerful allies like the Kennedys and Oprah Winfrey, or the super delegates who put him over the top-- they did it all by themselves. The rest of us are just little children who can only have primitive feelings and should be grateful to have Obama as an alternative to McCain.

And what is this thing about Obama working so hard for the nomination? Seems to me, Mrs. Clinton-- and for that matter, Edwards and other candidates-- worked just as hard. Seems to me that the ones who spent years in the Senate developing legislation are the ones who worked hard, not the guy who just waltzed in at the last minute and doesn't have one piece of legislation to his credit.

I can see that Obama supporters are setting the stage for a third-party candidate. The circumstances are ripe for someone to have the guts to step forward and give an alternative to the millions of voters who are tired of the arrogance of the Obamanites and the incompetence of the Republicans. Can we get Bill Bradley to come out of retirement? At this point, I'd even be willing to consider Bloomberg.

Since I am pro-life I would have absolutely no problem with McCain appointing judges to the SCOTUS that are pro-life. I do not believe that anyone should have the right to place their desires over the rights of another. I am in favor of life and the rights of everyone to live. As such, “anti-choice” is inaccurate.

I don’t want Obama or Clinton in office as I do not consider either one of them to be qualified, but if a Democrat wins then I would have rather had it be Clinton. I believe that she would do less damage to the country than Obama. 7 of Obama’s 10 years in public office are at the state level while Clinton has 8 years as the First Lady with direct input to the President and then another 7 in United States senate.

It’s not so much an emotional thing for me as it is a logical and rational one. I have a big problem with Obama’s voting record, which I disagree with completely. I think he’s a terrible politician and would make a terrible President. He has accumulated the most liberal voting record of the past 10 years and he does not represent American values. my biggest complaint with him is his long list of horrible friends and associates. Men such as:

Yeah, I'm comfortable with the FACT that in America people get to disagree, have free speech (even speech I don't agree with) and freedom of religion - whatever that means to them. Yeah, I'm okay with the FACT that Ayers is a professor at a well-respected school and has a sketchy past that he has moved past. Yeah, I'm okay with the FACT that neither Farakhan, Ayers, or Rezko is running for President nor are any of them considered by reasonable people to have any influence over anyone who is running. Yeah, I'm totally comfortable with Rev. Wright - see above as to Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion. Yeah, I'm totally comfortable with the love of and loyalty to the US that SENATOR OBAMA has displayed and declared throughout his life. Yeah, I'm completely fine with the rule of law that will convict Rezko and has cleared Obama of any connection with the criminal acts of another. Yeah - see I"m a REAL American who believes in the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the strength of both I'm not living large on the fears of others. I don't worry that some Islamic terrorist is going to attack my country, kill my children or kick my dog. I don't live in fear that someone who is darker or has a different religion from me is going to tear apart the fabric of my life. I also don't believe that I have to tear apart the character and personality and AMERICANISM of an opponent in an election. But I do believe that you are a reactionary, neo-conservative, bully. Have a nice day with your children and your life.
Incredible post, thank you.

Well done and very rational, I applaud your effort here.
Why do people back east care about College?
by Woolley
For the life of me, I cannot understand why anyone gives a shit about which college someone attended in their youth. Sure, it means something when you are 20 or 25 but by the time you get into your late 30s and 40s, its meaningless. I worked once for a startup in Manhattan. Biggest bunch of idiots and egomaniacs I have ever seen. All they could talk about was Columbia, NYU, MIT. They never figured out that the industry could care less. Its not where you have been, its where you are going. The path you took is a good indicator but not the only one.

This guilt by association stuff is crap.

I'm not voting for Rezko, or Khalidi, or Farrakhan, or whatever other baddie the Republicans or Clintons dig up who may have been on the same bus as Barack Obama when he was five years old.

I voted for Barack Obama and I'm going to vote for him again in the general election.

I'm going to continue to donate to his campaign and I'll volunteer if it looks close in November.

Until someone provides evidence that OBAMA embezzled, cheated, murdered, slurred, or whatever, I'm sticking with the best candidate, Barack Obama!

This is a fair comment and I find myself guilty as charged. I will try to be more graceful towards the Hillary supporters here. They make it damn hard though, damn hard.

sorry for the lack of paragraphs - I'm sure they were in there when I hit Post.
What odds stacked against her?
by Woolley
I cannot fathom this mentality. Clinton has had a very, very easy time of it. She got that Senate seat because of her marriage. She got the frontrunner status because of her marriage and lock on the DNC and donors. She was the freaking front runner up until Super Tuesday. Dodd, Biden and Richardson all have better resumes than she does. What really tough road did she endure except for the one her husband dragged her through and she tolerated? Give me a break with this stuff.

Re: Why do the Hillary lovers hate Obama?

Here is the biggest single reason to support Obama. Iraq. Culture of war and death. If you vote McCain or actually don't vote Obama we will be in Iraq, Afghanistan and most likely Iran forever.

Right now the Iraqis are incensed over the permanent military bases the US is setting up in Iraq. Our current administration is trying to ensure that even we the next president pulls troops out of Iraq he/she will probably leave troops at the bases.

If the ONLY reason you find to support Obama is that he isn't John McCain then that is enough.
