I'm not sure why people are equating procrastinating with
by Lbutterfly

taking time to just relax, goof off or chill out. If you don't have time to smell the roses and get bills paid and chores done too, then you're probably trying to do too much, or maybe think you must do something productive every minute of the day not to be a procrastinator.

I guess my own definition of procrastination is similar to one I heard about alcoholism, if it causes you problems in your life, then it's procrastination, otherwise, its not.

Well if you look at the wikipedia entry on it ...

... the idea seems to be that procrastination is normal in most people and that it only "becomes a problem when it impedes normal functioning." In that case it can be indicative of certain other neuroses ...

Normal functioning like 60 -40 hr work weeks , with two weeks off a year.?Face it procrastination is our passive aggressiveness against a world gone mad.Old time people had all winter off, and bunches of holidays as well. I read in anthropology that hunter gatherers had so much extra time that they that took naps off and on throughout the day.But we've got to try and look "busy" because the Puritan ethic has deemed sloth sinful. The world needs more sloth badly!

You don't get it. It's not "smelling the roses" because I don't even ENJOY the stuff I'm doing to procrastinate, most of it is just an OCD exercise to avoid the things that are causing me stress and anxiety. Please stop trying to pretend that everything is fine when you obviously don't have the problem and don't understand.
