Re: Okay--this one gets my vote

"But I do prefer presenting them without any of the spittle-spraying insult-screaming histrionics that you seem to consider as 'passion' :)"

No but it gives a certain "style" doesn't it? That's what you crave. And apparently for you emotion filled arguments, via style, is a solid argument.

"And as you may remember even from your high school days -- content and style are *both* important when making a presentation."

Ha! You know what I remember from my high school days? The popularity contest is bogus and fleeting, and it reeks of low self-esteem cause you need the attention. It's all about what's on the outside than what's inside. Is that what you're saying? Thank you, this has been very enlightening. It shows! After all, you're a peer-reviewer "on the outside" who doesn't have a science degree "on the inside". Did you also learn from high school that style wins you points in an argument? *sighes*

Lol. I should dig that source up for ya since you're so fascinated by it, you sexual deviant - you.
Re: Time flies...

Heh heh. You guys are funny. If the "epic" sucks you're not supposed to continually refer to it. Maybe I should dig that thing up so we can all laugh at it, since you're all so fond of it. I'll admit, it was kind of dumb, but then again I was just musing and it was hardly central to anything.

Oh it's his birthday, that's why! He's trying to give us hints. He wants one of those gorilla-robot things to pop out of a cake!

And he wants it to say, "Happy birthday...Mr. Presidentttttt...., er PhDDD-eeeeeee".

Re: Well, I could be wrong.

You saying you want the sequel?

;)

Okay, it's a deal.
by Havelock

I'll be there! Anyway, yeah, I'm pretty sure the series debuted in 2006. But a little did go a long way, no question. Did anyone read it all, all the way through? Only a glutton for punishment or someone equally obsessive would've, I reckon.

The reason I remember the gorilla / robot bride stuff is because, despite the fact that Patrick was instantly (and understandably) pilloried for venturing (even further) into the realm of the absurd, it was one of few times in that whole self-indulgent mess that I thought he made a valid and interesting point. Namely that the logic of divorcing the institution of marriage from the ability to procreate (which divorce I support, lest anyone be in doubt) inexorably leads us toward permitting extra-species marriage, should sufficiently sentient and sapient beings be created or encountered at some point in the future.

Of course he presented it as a prima facie reason to disallow same-sex marriage, so all of the mockery wasn't wholly undeserved.

Cheers.

Only if it's got a really big schlong (I think that's the jewish spelling ;)).

How many friggin' times do I have to tell you...I'm a girl. You know, one of those things you've never been under the covers with... :P

Only if you use the Russian alphabet.
I'm not a deviant.
by Archaeopteryx

I'm only interested in a gorilla-robot hybrid if it's of the age of consent. Whatever that is for robots and gorillas.

Hmmmm...little revelation there, perhaps???

Re: Okay--this one gets my vote

Not a revelation I think considering that everyone is quite aware of the politics and popularity contest involved with high school. Why should that be a revelation?

Bullshivek?
Re: I'm not a deviant.

Lol. You're "interested".

That all reminds me of that Futurama episode where Fry got a Lucy Lu robot.

Arch's parents: "You want to go out and do something Arch"?

Arch: "No thx, I'd rather make out with my Marlyn Monrobot."

;)

Re: I'm not a deviant.

Meanwhile but later, you ask the Monrobot if she wants to do anything. She replies:

Monrobot: "How about you take the time to register me?"

You and your robots! *slaps Arch on the back*
