Killing embryos: not wrong. We can just agree to disagree on that one, as I'm fairly certain we're not changing each other's minds.
I'm not calling Dubai, nor am I smoking doobies (the last one I smoked was in nineteen ninety mumble, where "mumble" is some number less than five). For that matter, I don't own a gun, either. But liberty is liberty, whether my exercise of it is directly affected or not.
But you must choose a party for whom to vote. I'm thinking you're basically Libertarian. And the biggest threat to liberty at present lies in one party alone. Which should be opposed, as it controls the country.
In 2008, my vote punished the Republicans for a lack of fiscal discipline, for a stupid war, and for generally being douchebags. In 2010 and again in 2012, my vote will punish the Democrats for a lack of fiscal discipline, for continuing a stupid war, and for generally being douchebags. I'd like to see the social conservatives and hawks out of the GOP, but it's extremely unlikely to happen. So I'll probably continue just voting against whoever happens to be in power, because whoever it is is likely to piss me off.
I'm liberal with a lowercase 'l'. That's not completely accurate, but it's less of a mouthful than "fiscally moderate-to-conservative, pro-free-market-and-free-trade, way to the left on social issues and civil rights, pro-gun, and non-interventionist in foreign policy".
